Bucking Bull Hire in Perth: What to Know Before Booking for Your Event

Thinking about booking a bucking bull for your next event in Perth? Before you choose a date, it’s worth checking a few practical things first.

A bucking bull isn’t something you simply place in a spare corner of a venue. You’ll need enough space, suitable access, power and a trained operator to run the ride. Getting these details sorted early makes the booking process much easier.

We provide bucking bull hire across Perth and surrounding areas, with our team based in Fremantle. Here’s what we recommend checking before booking.

What Is a Bucking Bull?

A bucking bull is a mechanical ride where one person rides the bull while it moves and bucks, with the aim of staying on for as long as possible.

It can work well when you want an activity that gets people involved rather than something guests simply watch. We regularly provide bucking bulls for private parties, corporate events, rodeos, country and Western-themed events, festivals and public events across Perth and WA.

The Bucking Bull is suitable for riders from age 3 through to adults, provided they can get on and off the bull independently. One person rides at a time, with an approximate capacity of 50 riders per hour.

How Much Space Does a Bucking Bull Need?

This is one of the first things we’d check before confirming a booking.

Our Bucking Bull requires approximately 5 metres in diameter, with 2.5–3 metres of height clearance. You’ll also need around 1.5 metres of access through gates, doors or other entry points for setup. The bull cannot be transported through a home because of its size.

The setup can be used indoors or outdoors where the venue has enough suitable space and access. If you’re unsure about your venue, send us the details and we’ll help you work through the requirements.

Does the Bucking Bull Need an Operator?

Yes. The ride must be supervised by a trained Monsterball operator.

The operator isn’t included in the standard hire price. Operators are currently available at $120 + GST per hour.

Having an operator also means you don’t need to work out how to control the ride yourself. Our team can manage the operation while you focus on your guests and the rest of your event.

What Types of Events Suit a Bucking Bull?

A bucking bull can fit into quite a few different event styles.

We’ve provided mechanical rides for:
  • Private parties
  • Corporate events
  • Bucks and hens parties
  • Country and Western-themed events
  • Rodeos
  • Festivals
  • Community events
  • Large public events
If you’re building a Western-themed event, we also have other mechanical rides and Western-style entertainment that can be combined with the Bucking Bull.

For a broader event, you can also combine mechanical rides with Inflatable Hire in Perth, sports inflatables, obstacle courses or giant games. Our product range includes a large selection of inflatable entertainment for different ages and event types.

What About Two Bucking Bulls?

If you’re planning a larger event or want to turn the activity into a competition, our Ride Off (2x Bucking Bulls) features two Bucking Bulls operating side by side.

The two bulls have mirrored movements, allowing two riders to compete at the same time. The current setup requires approximately 10m x 5m, with 2.5–3m height clearance, and can accommodate around 100 riders per hour.

It’s worth considering for larger corporate events, festivals and Western-themed celebrations where you want the activity to become a central part of the event.

What Should You Check Before Booking?

Before you book your Bucking Bull, we recommend having these details ready:

Your event location: We provide free delivery within a 30km radius of Fremantle, with distance fees applying beyond that area.

Available space: Check the diameter, height clearance and access requirements.

Power: Confirm that your venue has the required power points on separate circuits.

Event duration: Work out how long you want the ride operating.

Age group: Riders need to be able to get on and off the bull independently.

Site surface: Sandbags or water drums can be provided where the setup is on hard surfaces or indoors.

Having these details ready makes it much easier for us to recommend the right setup.

How Much Does Bucking Bull Hire Cost?

Our Bucking Bull hire starts from $1,090 + GST for 3 hours, which includes professional setup and packdown outside your standard hire time. Additional hire time is available at $300 + GST per hour.

The Bucking Bull must be supervised by a trained Monsterball operator, which is an additional $120 + GST per hour. If your venue doesn’t have the required power supply, we can also provide a generator for an additional cost.

Delivery is free within a 30km radius of Fremantle, with additional delivery fees applying beyond this area. We also provide $20 million public liability insurance, giving event organisers added peace of mind when booking the attraction.

For an accurate quote, we recommend providing your event date, location, hire duration and venue details. This allows our team to confirm availability and any additional delivery or equipment requirements.

Planning Bucking Bull Hire in Perth or Fremantle?

If you’re looking at Mechanical Rides hire in Perth, we’re happy to help you compare the options rather than simply choosing the biggest attraction.

Contact us about your event, venue, expected number of guests and available space. We’ll help you work through the requirements and decide whether a single Bucking Bull, the two-bull Ride Off or another mechanical ride is the right fit.

We’re based in Fremantle and provide professional delivery and setup across Perth and surrounding areas.
